Stripy Pink Wednesday

Happy Pink Wednesday and Happy Birthday to my little sister!

My mum's boss made my sister 16 cupcakes for her 16th birthday, YUM!

Back to nails, for this pink Wednesday I decided to go for stripes. The base colour is a light pink franken, then 17 Pink Grapefruit for the stripes. The lines aren't that crisp, but you can't really see that in real life, I hate how the camera magnifies every imperfection.

Just a short post for today, I have such a bad migraine. :(

I Wanna See Your Peacock, Cock, Cock

I've had Katy Perry - Peacock stuck in my head aaaaaaaaall day, so I thought why not do something peacock inspired and I've really wanted to use the peacock-ish image on the BM-212 plate for a while. The base colour is Rimmel Green With Envy (I love this colour so much), then blue Konad special polish for the stamping and dotted with a lilac Miss Sporty polish. I wish the dots had turned out better, but I didn't have the best lighting when doing it and you can hardly see the blue stamping, in hindsight I should have probably used black instead.

I didn't realise until after I finished this mani that there's not a lot of lilac in peacock tails... :P

Leopard Gradient

Today I have for you another gradient mani, and I am in love with it! I used Revlon Bubble Gum (Which is scented, ooo!) then I sponged Accessorize Orange Flash on top. The orange wasn't as bright as I wanted over the pink, maybe I should have done the orange first? I then finished off the gradient mani with the BM-221 plate.

 With flash.

 Natural light.

I luuuuurve gradient manis!

17 Goodie Bag!

I'm pretty sure I can speak for everyone here when I say free stuff is the BEST THING EVER! I was browsing the Boots website the other day and I saw they had a 17 offer going on, if you brought any 2 17 products you'd get this nail goodie bag for FREE! So as soon as I could, I went down to Boots and brought some a nail polish, 17 Forever and 17 Carbon Back/Copper eye pencil.

Here's the goodie bag and what was in it:

Isn't the bag so cute?!

 The view inside... so mysterious!

What I got inside the bag.

 Pink Grapefruit and Knockout Red

I love these stickers!! Can't wait to try them out!

 A nail file.

How amazing is the stuff in the bag?! All completely FREE! Love it! I'm tempted to buy some more 17 stuff just to get more of those nail stickers!

Sparkling Pink Wednesday

First off, this is an old mani (as my camera is lost and I've searched everywhere for it, I bet one of my dogs has taken it...) and there's really not that much pink and it's technically Thursday... but anyway, happy Pink Wednesday! The base is Models Own Juicy Jules, but I guess I didn't take any pictures of this in direct sunlight as you can't see the AMAZING holo glitter that this polish is and then I put some super cute fimo canes on top. This one has to be my favourite out of all the canes, pink and flowery, win win!

I'm wearing my fake nails here, I miss them :(

"They're a bit weird"

So todays mani is another leopard print, which my sister lovingly described as "a bit weird" and apparently "looks like a cow", thanks sis! I saw this colour combo on a blog, but I can't for the life of me remember which who's blog it was! So if anyone recognizes this, please link the blog to me!

 Left hand.

Right hand.

The white is Barry M Matt White, the grey is Barry M Grey and the red is Bourjois So Laque Rouge Escarpin.

Rudey Nudey

I'm LOVING nudes at the moment, yesterday I made like 4 nude frankens and I can just tell I'll end up spending a fortune by buying the Zoya ones and any others I can find! I'm pretty obsessed!

I've decided to take more pictures of my right hand as my nails are longer than my left. :P

It's a pretty similar shade to the nude in a previous post but that one was pearl whereas this one isn't. I think I prefer this one, but I do love both.

Vampy Franken

I love this franken (and so does my mum, I can tell she'll be stealing it), it's full of purpley, red, shimmery goodness! I don't really like just plain nails though, but I can't think of what to do on top of it, especially what colour to go on top! So what does everyone else think? Maybe gold? Ideas please!

First Time Gradient

It's Pink Wednesday time! I finally got around to trying out gradient nails, because I love them! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of the gradient before I stamped because I got to impatient waiting for my camera to charge. I used Barry M Shocking Pink, Bright Purple and Cyan Blue, but you can't see the purple that well. The plate is BM-205.

Blue On Blue

I really love subtle stamping where the pattern is a similar colour to the base, so I gave that a go! Base was Zoya Phoebe, which I LOVE, don't have a pic of that on my own though but I'm sure everyone knows what that looks like anyway, then stamped it using BM-225 with Konad Special Nail Polish in blue. I really like how it turned out.

Matte!

With Seche Vite.

Weekly Haul

Even though I'm not suppose to be buying any nail polish I caved a little this week, but in my defence the nail polishes were either on my wish list or on offer.

I have wanted these Zoya matte polishes FOREVER, so I went on ebay to buy them. So exciting to try these out!

I brought 3 Miss Sporty nail polishes, as they were on offer and they're apparently good at stamping too! I finally got around to buying Seche Vite, although I did accidentally drop it and spill some of it on my carpet and slippers, so sad!

RAWR... More Leopard Print

Thought I'd give leopard print another go after my failed glitter leopard print so I went for Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream as a base, an unnamed Miss Sporty polish as the spots (why you no name your polishes, Miss Sporty?) then Barry M Black as the outline. I think the black was a bit harsh and I probably would have been better going with a dark grey.

It's definitely easier to do leopard print on longer nails, I couldn't do as many spots as I'd like with this length. My mum was a bit confused by my nails, at first she thought they were stickers, then she thought I used a template and when I told her I did them by hand she was like "hmm, ok then", haha, bless my mum.

Nude Nails

I'm kind of loving the nude nail look at the moment, and as I made a nude nail franken the other day I thought I'd give that a try. I think it looks pretty good, although I'll probably be making another nude franken soon, maybe one lighter than my skin tone? Considering this was a franken it applied really well. I don't know about the rest of you, but my franken polishes can be a bit hit and miss with how they apply, but this one only needed 2 coats! Then I put my Seche Vite over it, I still can't get over how glossy it is!!

Nail Polish Storage

I've been pondering for the last week or so how to store my nail polish collection. At uni I had a big shoe box and a big celebration tin which I had filled with nail polish which then lived on my bookshelf. But now I'm back home and I have a whole chest of drawers, which my parents lovingly brought for me, just for my nail polish, make up, jewellery and all that kind of stuff.

My beauty corner!

So my nail stuff in the the bottom draw, but all my nail polishes were just loose and it became really messy, really easily and after all my nail polish was in there, there wasn't room for much else...

Note: In this picture, at least 20 nail polishes, a container filled MB/Konad pates and fimo canes were not in there and my nail polish remover and cotton wall balls were also missing.

I was a little stumped how to sort these out so it was easy to find what I need, so I just hunted in the kitchen for some unused tupperware containers (as I'm cheap) to put some of my nail polishes in there.

So much more organised!

This is only temporary though as what I really want is something like in this post as I think it would be PERFECT! Especially when I go back to uni.

I'm really interested with how everyone else stores their nail polishes, so I think you all should take a picture and make a blog post about it so I can see!!

Pink Wednesday... On Thursday

Sorry for the late pink Wednesday! I'm so annoyed, I had planned to post this before I went out last night but my friends decided to pick me up an hour early, that was my blog writing time!!!

I don't how why the pictures came out a bit blurry, my camera was obviously having a hissy fit. The pink is a Miss Sporty nail polish (3 for £4.99 in Superdrug!!) which is nameless as they don't put names on the bottles and the green is Rimmel Green With Envy.

I ordered Seche Vite online and it came yesterday, and I am in love! It dries so fast and I actually prefer the smell to normal nail polish, is that weird?

Franken Mad

I've gone a bit franken mad over the last few days, so here are the ones I've made!

Surprisingly I only made 1 glitter franken, the others were just colours I've wanted for a while but can never find in shops.

I've wanted a nude nail polish for a while now, but the only ones I find are sheer so I made my own! And I've wanted a light pink for aaaaages and as I had a little bit of a matte top coat left I made the pink franken in there so it's matteified, it also has a gold shimmer to it too, but couldn't capture that in the pic. I'm thinking the pink will be used in my pink Wednesday.

This red is gorgeous! It's a bit more purpley in real life and has a shimmer to it, but you can't see them because my camera is a bit crap. The green glitter is AMAZING, I put loads of different coloured glitter in it.

Here's a close up on my leg, haha, as it's the only way I could get a half decent close up. I should probably think of some names for them, but I'm not that creative.

Purple Glitz

Today's mani is NYC Prince Street with NYC Gramercy Glitz on top. I'm really into purple nails atm, and as I haven't tried Prince Street yet I thought I would give it a go and then of course I needed some glitter on top. At first I thought Gramercy Glitz was just a peach glitter, but to my surprise it's this gorgeous blue and pinky/peach glitter, in the bottle it really doesn't show the blue!

I've also made 3 frankens today, it's kind of addicting! Swatches of those will be up tomorrow. I have 2 more empty bottles, just don't know what kind of franken to make! Any ideas?

My First Franken.

So here's my first franken! Exciting times or what! You can't really see the blue glitter in this pics, because my camera is complete pants, but it looks pretty cool in real life.

Failed Glitter Leopard Print

So I thought I'd go for a glitter leopard print mani, because I love glitter and I also love leopard print, only I don't have many full glitter nail polishes. So I went for my Barry M blue glitter and my Accessorize Ruby Sparkle as I liked how they looked together, only I discovered once they were on my nail there was no enough contrast between the two and it ended up not looking very good. Annoying!

The black I used was Accessorize Idol. I'll probably try this again some time, as I really love glitter leopard print, I'll just have to use some different glitters and hopefully it will work out better.
