Addiction

Hi my name's Lydia and I'm addicted to Essie Mint Candy Apple. I've only had this polish for a few months and I've nearly got through half a bottle. Yes I have a problem. So of course I had to have mani with Mint Candy Apple, because it being on my toes is just not enough for me so I decided to go for this little striped and floral number. The lines could have been neater (luckily the flowers cover those up though :P) but I don't have the steadiest hands in the world... aahhh I hate doing freehand stripes so much!

Polishes I used:
Essie - Mint Candy Apple
Konad Special Nail Polish - White
Collection 2000 - Ninja (best name ever, flower leaves)
Barry M - Peach Melba (Flowers)
Essie - Braziliant (Flowers)

Going Dotty

Hey! I'm stuck in bed with such a terrible cold, this is why I hate winter! It needs to be sunny and hot all year round, yeah I definitely need to move... Anyway, time for my Pink Wednesday post which I think is super cute, although I might be a little bias ;) The tips are Barry M Fuchsia with some neon pink Miss Sporty polish on top, then I used Konad Special white polish with BM-19.

Happy Halloween!

Hey everyone! I hope you all having a greet Halloween and have been dressing up! Unfortunately I'm suck in bed with a migraine, so no Halloween for me, boo! But I did go to a Halloween party on Saturday, so I'll post a picture of me in my little outfit as well as my Halloween nails. :P

This mani is my first splatter I've successfully done, so I'm pretty happy with the results, but I did feel pretty breathless after all that blowing, haha that sounds totally wrong but I don't mean it like that! :P I used Barry M White, Bourjois Rouge Escarpin as the blooooooood and BM-12 for the chains with Konad Black polish.

And here's me in my Halloween costume, I'm a dead bride. My husband killed me, how rude!

Bulletproof

Hey! I have a bit of a weird mani today. I don't really do yellow nails (apart from their natural yellow stained colour :p) but I saw this mani on a blog (don't remember which one) ages ago and have been meaning to try it out ever since. They look a bit like gunshots, right? Because that's what I was going for, haha. The yellow is an unnamed Miss Sporty polish (I have said it a thousand times, but Miss Sporty NAME YOUR POLISHES!), the black and white are the standard Konad stamping polishes and the plate is BM-202.

Smelling Of Roses

Hey! Two posts in two days, aren't you guys lucky ;) I've had such an obsession with grey nail polish recently, I just feel like that's the only polish that looks good on my short nails. I don't know why but when I look at this mani I think of Quentin Tarantino, which is a bit weird. The grey is an unnamed H&M polish, the pink is Revlon Bubble Gum (which is scented) and I stamped BM14 with White Konad Special Nail Polish.

Cute As Cupcakes

I can't believe I haven't posted in a month! It makes me sad! The reason I haven't posted in aaaaaaaages is because I started a college course and I'm doing beauty therapy! Which is pretty excited, but I'm not allowed to have my nails painted and my nails have to be kept short :( So I haven't really bothered with my nails and when I did do them I never took a picture of them. I have a few manis to upload over the next few days though, gotta get into the blogging swing again :)

The purple is Gosh Wild Lilac, the plate is BM14 stamped with White Konad Special Nail Polish and the cute little pink gems are from ebay.

The cupcakes match my pyjamas! :D

Shatter It Up!

Hey! You know when you think your nails are dry but they actually aren't, so you carry on with other things like normal, and then you look down at your nails and they're all a bit scuffed? Well this happened to me the other day when I was getting ready for a night out and I only noticed my nails were ruined minutes before I had to get the train. It was so annoying and stressful! So I quickly put some white shatter on top, then some glitter and ran for the train like a mad man! Luckily I made it just in time and did a top coat on the train, but from now on I'm defiantly going to leave more time before going out for my nails to dry :P

The nail polishes I used where: Natural Collection Lunar Haze, which is a GORGEOUS purple duochrome but it's very sheer so I did a layer of Barry M Boots Limited Edition first (Lunar Haze will get it's own special post sooner or later, because it's such a stunner). Then on top is Barry M White Shatter and a unnamed Bourjois glitter polish.

Stripes and Flowers

Hey! Just a quick post from me today as I have to rush out. All the colours are Barry M, apart from the green which is a fraken. So enjoy!

It's so annoying to take pictures in the sunlight when Seche is your topcoat, it's just too damn glossy!

Pink Wednesday, Yo

Really quick post. My nails look super gross, I really should have cleaned up better! The pink is Collection 2000 Siren, the white and black are Konad Special Nail Polish and the stamp is BM-223.

I'll upload a better picture tomorrow when I'm not under the influence of alcohol.

Birthday Presents and Weekly Haul

For my birthday my sister got me some nail goodies!

Yaaay! Pretty rhinestones! Can't wait to bling my nails out with these!

Dotting tools! No longer will I have to ruin bobby pins, haha.

My mum baked me some super yummy chocolate and orange cupcakes for my birthday, with pink icing of course.

Yum!
Now here's the things I've brought this week:

Barry M Pink Iridescent and Collection 2000 Siren

I'm so excited about this! Look at that holo glitter!

I've been really good at not buying nail polish recently, these are the first I've brought in nearly a month! I'm very proud with myself.

A Very Late Pink Wednesday

I've been such a bad blogger lately, can't believe I haven't posted in a week! I've missed blogging and reading blogs! My birthday was yesterday, I turned 20, so I've been celebrating that all week. I'm feeling very old right now! I have lots of nail posts planned for the next few days though, so I thought I'd start off with my Pink Wednesday nails.

I've seen these butterfly wing nails on a few blogs so I decided to give that a go. Base colour is Siren by Collection 2000, the black is Andrea Fulerton nail pen thing and the white was Konad Special Nail Polish.

Ladybird Nails

I thought I'd go for something cute and fun as I'm been on such a downer lately, so I decided why not ladybirds as I've been wanting to do them for a while! I think they look great, but the eyes creep me out so much! The base colour is Bourjois Rouge Escarpin, which is a really great one coater, then the white and black are Barry M.

"They're a bit weird"

So todays mani is another leopard print, which my sister lovingly described as "a bit weird" and apparently "looks like a cow", thanks sis! I saw this colour combo on a blog, but I can't for the life of me remember which who's blog it was! So if anyone recognizes this, please link the blog to me!

 Left hand.

Right hand.

The white is Barry M Matt White, the grey is Barry M Grey and the red is Bourjois So Laque Rouge Escarpin.

You Give Me Butterflies

Hey, just a quick post today as I'm about to go out for lunch and get my feet eaten by lots of little fish, so here we have plate BM-205, the blue underneath is Barry M Cyan, and the white is Konad special nail polish. I'm kind of loving how the white looks like a light blue but I'm gutted how messy it looks and how little of the butterflies you can see because of my short nails :(

I stamped my sisters nails yesterday with one of my favourite images out of my BM plates, so hopefully she'll let me take a pic of her nails so I can post them, although she did laugh when I said I had a nail blog...

Zebra Pink Wednesday

As soon as I saw the zebra print on my BM-223 plate I knew straight away I was going to use it for my next pink Wednesday, and now my nails are all short the whole image fitted on! Yes! I used 2 nameless Miss Sporty nail polishes to get the pink, then white Konad nail polish for the stamping.

First was 1 layer of this nail polish.

Then 2 layers of this polish.

I think it turned out pretty well for the first time I've done full nail stamping.

Yummy Watermelons

So blogger being down, for what seemed like FOREVER, was annoying huh? My last post was deleted but hopefully it'll be back up soon...

Anyway, I was going to do fimo watermelon nails, but I'm kind of traumatised from the last time I tried to cut up fimo canes, so I went with the more literal approach, haha.

Can you tell I did the green and white lines free hand? So messy!

I didn't really have any nail polishes which were watermelon colour, so I did 2 coats of Barry M Bright Red then a thin coat of Rimmel Magenta Magic. The white stripe in Konad Special Nail Polish and the green is Calvin Klein Emerald Green (which is the only green I own!) and then the black is Barry M.

First Konad Attempt

I think it turned out pretty well for a first attempt, I had a real problem with the stamping though, I could never get the stamp onto the part of the nail I wanted. Annoying!

 Without flash.

With flash.

This colour is AMAZING! I normally don't buy Gosh because it's a bit expensive for my liking, but I really liked this colour. It's called Ocean and I love it.

The camera didn't do the polish justice. These are the nail polishes I brought today:

The Accessorize is like a dark blue with glitter, looks kinda cool and was half price! Can't turn down a bargin!

Barbie Girl

I'm kind of obsessed with pink nails at the moment, not helped by the fact 70% of the nail polishes I brought back from uni with me were pink, so I have another pink mani! Doesn't this colour just scream barbie?! There's like microglitter in it, but my crapo camera wouldn't pick them up, boo!

Sorry for the messiness!

I wanted to do some Konad stamping on top of them but my right hand (I'm right handed) is kind of messed up at the moment and have limited movement in it, so weird and painful! So I'll have to wait a week/few days until my hand is better to try it! I put Barry M white shatter on top instead, with glitter on top!

I was going to crop the picture, but I thought my dress in the background looked nice, haha. Shame you can't see the glitter, but the pic was taken at night, so no sunlight.

I might not post much in the next few weeks because I have exams so I'll be busy revising... or I'll be posting lots if I'm procrastinating, haha!

I can haz Konad?

So I ordered some Konad stuff and it came today! I was so excited I wanted to hug the postman, and if I wasn't holding one of my doggys at the time nothing would have stopped me! I wish they came a day or two later though, because I am so in love with my Wednesday nails that I don't want to remove them just yet and there is no way I could fit some Konad into my mani! I had a go on some cardboard but it just wasn't the same as nails, I might try and convince my mum or sister to let me try on them.

White, blue and red, perfect timing for the royal wedding or what?!

M2 and M3, so cute!

I can tell a lot of my money is going to go on Konad and Fauxnads now, sorry bank account!

Marbling Fail

So I attempted marbling today and it went TERRIBLY. Why do youtube tutorials make things seem soooo easy when they're actually really hard?! Although I suspect the nail polish I was using was the main reason it didn't turn out well. Here's a pic anyway, I gave up after 3 failed attempts.

Sorry for the flash.

I also decided to add white shatter tips to my nails and here are the results, I'm pretty happy with it.

They look quite eastery, don't you think?
